A realtime model of the Nantex-class Geonosian Starfighter from Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones (and the Clone Wars tv shows), complete with low poly pilot and cockpit interior. I always really enjoyed how alien the curved design of this ship was, in contrast to the human-made ships we mostly see in Star Wars. Modeled in Maya, pilot sculpted in Blender, textured on one texture sheet in Substance Painter. The bits of smoke in the first render are also from some frames of an Embergen explosion. This model is a little higher poly and higher res than my previous realtime Star Wars ships, more in line with the level of quality/detail of something like the Battlefront games.
The pilot doesn’t appear in the movie but appeared with this kind of face mask in the Incredible Cross Sections book and as an action figure, a pheromone hood for communications, so it’s fairly accurate, though a low-detail interpretation. The face mask apparently interfaces with the ship's communications systems via pheromones, which is cool. For the first image, I also needed a Clone Wars era opponent, so I modified and projection mapped a picture of Obi-wan's starfighter onto an extremely low poly wedge-shape.
